The theme of the 2017 conference was Coalition of Caring. There were more than 60 vendors at the event. Life Care’s booth featured a baseball theme depicting coming together as a team.

Cherry Estilo, physical therapist, and Kayla Weelborg, occupational therapist assistant, passed their Kinesio Taping® certification exams on Jan. 9, 2017. The method uses a special tape placed strategically along the joints and muscles to provide a very slight lift to the skin, which creates better circulation....

In Dec. 2015, Bernadette Borchelt suffered a severe fall, causing a traumatic brain injury and the protrusion of one of her spinal discs, compressing her spinal cord and paralyzing her arms and legs.

By Jan. 2016, Borchelt had arrived at Life Care Center of Waynesville, Missouri. Her first few months at the facility brought many obstacles, including a few rehospitalizations, but Borchelt was determined to push forward with her rehabilitation....

2016 Bronze National Quality Award

Life Care Center of Waynesville, a skilled nursing and rehab facility, recently received the 2016 Bronze National Quality Award from the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living.

The award honors facilities across the nation that have demonstrated their commitment to improving quality of care for seniors and persons with disabilities. It is the first of three tiers of recognition (Bronze, Silver and Gold) by AHCA/NCAL and requires a detailed application process submitted to a board of examiners for review.
