Life Care Center of Waynesville in Waynesville, Missouri, recently received the 2017 Silver – Achievement in Quality Award from the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living.
This facility was one of only 191 organizations nationwide and four in Missouri to receive this level of recognition this year.
Implemented by AHCA/NCAL in 1996, the National Quality Award Program is centered on the criteria of the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program. The program assists providers of long-term and post-acute care services in achieving their performance excellence goals.
The program has three levels: Bronze, Silver and Gold. Facilities begin at the Bronze level and must earn an award at each level before applying for the next. They must fill out a detailed application for each tier.
“We received the Bronze award in 2016 and felt we were in a position to move forward to the Silver level,” said Renee Ridling, executive director of Life Care Center of Waynesville. “We are always striving to improve what we do and how we do it to ensure that our team is making the most difference. The Silver award is a validation of the progress we have made in improving the quality of our facility's services.”
“I am honored to recognize this year’s Silver award recipients for their dedication to delivering quality care,” said Alana Wolfe, Chair of the AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Board of Overseers. “I applaud Life Care Center of Waynesville’s ability to effectively apply the Baldrige criteria to improve quality performance.”
The award will be presented formally during AHCA/NCAL’s 68th Annual Convention and Exposition, Oct. 15 – 18, in Las Vegas.
“Achievement of the Silver National Quality Award is a prestigious accomplishment recognized throughout the health care community, and we are very proud of the associates at Life Care Center of Waynesville for their hard work to reach this goal,” said Beecher Hunter, Life Care president. “The award is also symbolic of a highly functioning team because it takes the commitment of every associate to win it.”
